Well, summer blockbuster season is on it’s way. There’s been some hits and some misses so far, but the season is still young and anything is possible. For me, I can safely say I have seen what just might end up being my Favorite Film of 2012. That’s a bold statement considering there’s still many more films to still come out, but when I walked out of the theater from seeing Prometheus, it was the first thought I had.
First off, with a title like that, one would think it is the stupidest, craziest, off-the-wall idea ever created! I know this is based on a very popular book (which I have not read), so I couldn’t compare the two, which I feel is maybe best at this point. For those who have not read the book, the film is pretty much what the title says.
Inspiring on Yusuke Kishi‘s novel Lesson of the Evil (Aku No Kyoten), Takashi Miike shoots a story focused on a sociopathic and aggressive tendencies high school teacher. Lesson of the Evil will be released on November 2012, in the meanwhile let’s watch the trailer here.
A new King of Horror’s facebook page was born by the hands of Tony Northrup: All Thing’s King, the Stephen King Fan Page. This fan page brings it to you hot off the slab! .
Well, we’re at the final stretch of the Summer Blockbuster Schedule and it has been quite the year! With Superhero films, sequels, comedies, and family films – it looks like Summer 2012 was a huge success! However, we’re not quite done just yet. One thing every year has and that is, sequels!
This will be the shortest review I have ever done. And why? Because it’s for a movie that is absolutely … well, read on first. We are in the tail in of the Summer Blockbuster Season which means the “bottom of the barrel” period for movies. Not saying all films are bad in August/Sept., but its like all the big films are already out and heading to the DVD factory for the Christmas rush.
This review is dedicated to those we lost and were touched by the Colorado Movie Theater Tragedy. 7-19-12. This has got to be the hardest review I’ve had to write. Not that it is a difficult film to write about, but because of the tragedy that has gone along with it. However, as a film reviewer, it is my duty to continue bringing the readers the latest in film entertainment and making your movie going experience the best I can. Please stay tuned at the end of this review for a very important message.
Zack Snyder is coming back with a really risky project, even if behind the scenes names and surnames are interesting, Christopher Nolan first of all. You can love or not Snyder but we can ensure you Superman – Man of steel teaser trailer won’t leave you feeling indifferent. Waiting for the 14th June 2013 release, just take a look at the trailer by clicking here.
I had only heard about this film when I was watching the Oscar’s this year and it had received many nominations. From the film clips I saw, I knew it would be worth my time just for the fact it was nominated for an Oscar. This film is what they call a “Dramady” (a drama with light comedy to ease the story along). It is an extremely well done film by director Alexander Payne. With a strong cast and serious storylines, The Descendents lived up to its Oscar nominations.
