UNCLE OTTO’S TRUCK – Dan Sellars

Stephen King is no stranger to “haunted” vehicles. With stories such as, MILE 81, TRUCKS (aka MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE), FROM A BUICK 8, and the queen of “haunted” vehicles: CHRISTINE! But there was a short story first published in Yankee magazine in 1983 and later published in Stephen King’s short story collection, SKELETON CREW in 1985. A talented filmmaker, Dan Sellers, has brought this short story to life.

HERE THERE BE TYGERS – Bryan Higby

This is one of the very first short stories Stephen King had ever written in his career. He wrote it while in high school, and was first published in 1968, in Ubris magazine.

I AM THE DOORWAY – Joe Kowalski

Stephen King‘s short story, I am the doorway, was first published in 1971′s March issue of Cavalier magazine. It was latter published in King’s short story collection, Night Shift. The story is about a disabled astronaut who is exposed to a toxic chemical during their mission to Venus. The lead character has his hand bandaged, it itches him something terrible, and suddenly eyeballs appear on his body as “doorways”.

LION – Davide Melini

It was his short film, The Puzzle, that began his career.

RAINY SEASON – Vanessa Ionta Wright

There are so many wonderful, entertaining, and frightening Stephen King short stories. Stories such as, THE MIST, THE BODY, THE LIBRARY POLICEMAN, THE MONKEY, SURVIVOR TYPE, and THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, just to name a few. Personally, I feel RAINY SEASON, is one of the top scary short stories King has ever written. When I heard I was getting the opportunity to see the adaptation of it, my expectations were very high , and I was NOT disappointed!

ONE FOR THE ROAD – Jacob Norlin

Stephen King’s short story, One for the road, was originally published in the March/April of Maine Magazine in 1977. In 1978’s short story collection, Night shift. The story is a “sequel” to the King classic novel, Salem’s Lot.

LOVE NEVER DIES – Peter Szabo

Stephen King’s short story “Nona” was first published in 1978 as part of an anthology called, Shadows. It was later published in 1985 in King’s short story collection Skeleton Crew. Even though Peter changed the title to Love never dies, the story is the same: a story about a college dropout drifter, Steve (played by Reese Eveneshen) making his way through Maine to Castle Rock.

REST STOP – Patrick Abernethy

Stephen King’s short story, Rest Stop was first published in the December 2003 edition of Esquire magazine. It was later added to King’s short story collection book, Just After Sunset. The story won the National Magazine Award of Fiction in 2004.

THE MAN WHO LOVED FLOWERS – Justin Zimmerman

The man who loved flowers was written by Stephen King and originally first published in Gallery magazine in 1977. It was later added to the short story collection book, Night shift in 1978. The story is about a young man walking down the street, various daily routines of people around doing their jobs or business just like any other day.
