POPULATION PURGE – Brian Johnson

There have been many apocalyptic films and television series throughout the years. Some are based upon fantasy, horror, and unimaginable situations that place all those in the path of destruction fleeing for their lives. All are, however, trying to live in the aftermath of what was. It’s amazing how many situations can be brought to life based on end of the world scenarios.

ALIEN – Ridley Scott

In the 1970’s, science fiction was at the height of its popularity, and some of the most classic films in history were released during that decade. WESTWORLD, PLANT OF THE APES, THX-1138, LOGANS RUN, and SILENT RUNNING, were considered some of the greats. SCAVENGERS – Travis Zariwny

PACIFIC RIM – Guillermo del Toro

Every summer as far back as I can remember, there has always been one summer film that stands out above the rest. In 1975 it was Jaws, in 1977 Star Wars, in 1982 E.T., 1993 Jurassic Park and so on. This summer there is one film I believe will be the BIG blockbuster of 2013. That film is Pacific Rim.

MAN OF STEEL – Zack Snyder

The Summer Blockbuster Train travels onward. We’ve seen some hits and some misses so far, but what could be the biggest film of the summer is now out in theaters! Man of steel has hit theaters and hit it hard. The latest Superman film has already broken box office records and here is my review of Man of steel.

STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS – J. J. Abrams

This summer is full of sequels and franchises and with this summer’s Star Trek Into Darkness you are going to get your fill! Star Trek has been around since the 1960′s, with films throughout the last 3 decades, and now it had it’s reboot/prequel in 2009 with Star Trek. Director J. J. Abrams brought the franchise out of the dark and back on top with his reboot and proved he had the magic touch.

PROMETHEUS – Ridley Scott

Well, summer blockbuster season is on it’s way. There’s been some hits and some misses so far, but the season is still young and anything is possible. For me, I can safely say I have seen what just might end up being my Favorite Film of 2012. That’s a bold statement considering there’s still many more films to still come out, but when I walked out of the theater from seeing Prometheus, it was the first thought I had.

TOTAL RECALL – Len Wiseman

This will be the shortest review I have ever done. And why? Because it’s for a movie that is absolutely … well, read on first. We are in the tail in of the Summer Blockbuster Season which means the “bottom of the barrel” period for movies. Not saying all films are bad in August/Sept., but its like all the big films are already out and heading to the DVD factory for the Christmas rush.
