HIRN – Thomas Binder
A man who has always been considered unintelligent, even by his father, is advised by him to work as a butcher, a job which might suit him. However, because his colleagues keep making fun of him, he suddenly has a bright idea: he’ll find lots of brains to become intelligent …
Hirn (literally “Brain”) is an ironic short movie directed by Thomas Binder who, in only a few minutes, amuses the audience by showing lots of gore, realized effectively by the German artist Claudia Rindler. Krig Dod is the perfect protagonist with his absent gaze and an ungainliness that suits his murderous madness. The photography, directed by Jerome Keller, is very distinctive thanks to a comic-like atmosphere created by a special use of lights.
