Tony’s review of ROBIN WILLIAMS AMERICAN MASTER (a new book release), and exclusive Interview with author, Stephen Spignesi…It goes without saying, 2020 has been a year unlike any other. However, not all things in 2020 were bad. One of the good things this year was there were some great new books released, and reading is always a wonderful diversion.
Over the years I’ve reviewed everything from films, books, and conventions, but tis my very first review of a CD! It’s really been fun and different, but I was up for the challenge. The CD comes from someone that is not only a musician, but in the film industry as well. Director Mick Garris, has been bringing us films for decades, and is an icon in the horror genre.
Mark Dawidziak, is an American author, born September, 7th, 1956, in Huntington, New York. He graduated from Harborfields High School in 1974. He continued his education at George Washington University, as a journalism major. In 1979, he expanded his writing by becoming a theatre, television, and film critic.
It’s been more than half a decade since I was first introduced to Justin Zimmerman, and not in the comic book world, but in the film world. Specifically, the Stephen King Dollar Baby Program. After he finished a feature length commercial King script, he decided to direct his own King short. I interviewed Justin for his personal Dollar Baby version of The Man Who Loved Flowers.
My latest Dollar Baby interview is with a talented director from the UK, Hendrik Harms. Hendrik studied at Keele University and graduated in 2o11. With various jobs and experience under his belt, Hendrik eventually started his own production company ‘Harms Way Studios’ in 2018, in Worcester, Worcestershire. He is a writer, producer, director, and he is now a part of the Stephen King Universe with his Stephen King Dollar Baby film, ALL THAT YOU LOVE WILL BE CARRIED AWAY.
In the early 1990s there was a select group of filmmakers that seemed to ‘nail it’ with everything they did. Robert Rodriguez, Spike Lee, Guillermo del Toro, and Kevin Smith, just to name a few. However, there was one young director among these that would take Hollywood by storm: Quentin Tarantino! I’ve always admired his style, and when I saw Reservoir Dogs, my love for his films has had me following his career ever since.
The world of Stephen King goes way beyond his books and films. There are also many books about his works, written by some of the very best in the literary world. Writers such as Bev Vincent, Robin Furth, Lee Gambin, Andrew J. Rausch, and of course, Stephen Spignesi, who has written more books about Stephen King than anyone.
The book world has a tidal wave of amazing and entertaining independent writers out there. With the help of social media, these authors are getting their due recognition, and their books are being enjoyed everywhere, making independent authors more popular than ever.
Richard Chizmar was born in Maryland, on December 21, 1965. After grade school, he attended Edgewood Senior High, and continued his studies at the University of Maryland. Richard has received many accolades thus far in his career. He has been a contributing writer for the New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Publisher’s Weekly newspapers.
Dan Sellers is originally from Wadesboro, North Carolina. He attended University of Charlotte, Class of 2007, and also attended University of Greensboro Class of 2009.
